Tape stuck inside.

I put a cleaning tape in and it shows no tape. Unable to eject cleaning tape. I ejected the magazine and can see the tape way in back in the middle of the device. Now all new tapes show as unknown media. Tried powering down and rebooting the device, restarting service, inventory on the device and in the software. Anything else I can do short of physically taking the device apart and manually taking the out? What if I do that and media still shows as unknown media?
