Kyocera Printer FS-1700

Kyocera 3700 Use on iSeries

I am having trouble getting our Kyocera 3700 printer to work with our iSeries computer. I would like to use this printer to print checks from our iSeries. Our iSeries is a 520 running V5R3 of the O/S. There is a TrendNet printer server in front of the printer with a parallel cable connecting the print server to the printer. Any configuration advice would be greatly apprectiated.
