Replacing the Display Assembly
Follow the instructions in “Before You Begin” on page 1. 6.
Align the screw holes on the display hinges with the computer base.2.
Replace the four screws (two on each hinge) that secure the display 3.
assembly to the computer base.
Replace the magnesium cover (see “Replacing the Magnesium Cover” on 4.
page 52).
Replace the left and right brackets (see “Replacing the Brackets” on page 5. 47).
Replace the palm rest (see “Replacing the Palm Rest” on page 6. 44).
Replace the keyboard (see “Replacing the Keyboard” on page 7. 39).
Replace the center control cover (see “Replacing the Center Control Cover” 8.
on page 35).
Replace the compartment door (see “Replacing the Compartment Door” on 9.
page 14).
Replace the battery pack (see “Replacing the Battery Pack” on page 10. 11).
CAUTION: Before turning on the computer, replace all screws and ensure
that no stray screws remain inside the computer. Failure to do so may
result in damage to the computer.
Bend the display assembly towards the computer base at a 45-degree angle 10.
and lift the display assembly o the computer.
