Can I control the computer mouse with the remote?
Yes. The remote supports both cursor movement and right and left clicking. You can connect to your computer with either a
USB or PS2 mouse cable. Both are supplied with the projector.
Can I turn the projector on and off with the remote?
Yes. You can use the remote to turn the lamp on and off. To completely power off the projector, turn the lamp off, then
unplug the power cord.
NOTE To extend the life of your projector, ASK Proxima strongly suggests that you completely cut the power to this
projector for at least six hours each day. If your projector is ceiling mounted or in a rear projection installation,
make sure to use a wall switch or a timer to achieve the six-hour shut down period. For more information about this

Does the remote have a laser pointer?

How do I control a PowerPoint presentation with the remote?
Connect the computer and projector with either the USB or the PS2 mouse cable. You can use the R and L keys to advance
the slides forward or backward. To allow the R key to work, you need to change a setting in PowerPoint. In PowerPoint, go to
Tool > Options. In the View tab, clear the Popup Menu on Right Mouse Click checkbox.
The remote does not work.
1. Make sure the remote is turned on. The remote control has an on/off switch on the right side.
2. Make sure that you have the correct computer cable/mouse cable configuration. Each mouse port on the projector is
tied to a specific computer input. The Mouse 1 connector (PS/2) works only when the active source is the Analog
Computer VGA (3). The Mouse 2 (USB) connector works only when the active source is a Digital Computer DVI (1)
or Analog Computer VGA (2).
3. If you are using the PS2 mouse cable, make sure the mouse is enabled. To do this press the Menu button, then
navigate to Basic > Features. Make sure the Serial Mouse option is selected.
4. Make sure that you point the remote at the front of the projector. This projector has an IR receiver on the front.
5. Open the battery cover on the back of the remote and rotate the batteries to make sure they have good contact.
6. Replace the batteries.
7. If possible, try using another remote control with the projector. If the projector responds to another remote, it
means that the original remote needs to be replaced.
8. If the projector does not respond to the second remote, the projector probably needs to be repaired. Contact your
dealer/reseller or ASK Proxima Technical Support.
The remote works, but only in a very limited range.
First, make sure you are pointing the remote at the projector or the screen. It should work up to about 20 feet. The remote
won't work if you point it toward the back of the projector or at the computer.
You can 'hard wire' the remote to the projector with a remote extension cable (Part number 210-0088-01). Plug one end of
the cable into the remote and the other into the Remote Control connector on the side of the projector.
The remote that ships with the projector is an infrared (IR) remote. IR remotes must be pointed directly at the projector.
Also, certain types of fluorescent lights can interfere with the infrared beam, resulting in a weak signal, so you might try
turning the lights off.
