4.4.3 Setting the RAID item in BIOS
You must enable the RAID function in the BIOS Setup before creating RAID set(s) using
SATA HDDs. To do this:
1. Enter the BIOS Setup during POST.
2. Go to the Main menu > Storage Conguration, and then press <Enter>.
3. Set the Congure SATA as item to [RAID].
4. Save your changes, and then exit the BIOS Setup.
Refer to Chapter 3 for details on entering and navigating through the BIOS Setup.
4.4.4 Intel
®
Matrix Storage Manager option ROM utility
The Intel
®
Matrix Storage Manager Option ROM utility allows you to create RAID 0, RAID 1,
RAID 10 (RAID 0+1), and RAID 5 set(s) from Serial ATA hard disk drives that are connected
to the Serial ATA connectors supported by the Southbridge.
To enter the Intel
®
Matrix Storage Manager option ROM utility:
1. Turn on the system.
2. During POST, press <Ctrl+I> to display the utility main menu.
The utility supports maximum four hard disk drives for RAID conguration.
The navigation keys at the bottom of the screen allow you to move through the menus
and select the menu options.
The RAID BIOS setup screens shown in this section are for reference only and may not
exactly match the items on your screen.
