Key Features
V.11 LS
Moreover, the V.11 LS can
support data transmissions at far
greater distances than RS-232
and is transparent to the data
stream.
It’s more reliable, too. The
device’s master port features
tandem DB-15 connectors, which
allow the V.11 LS to be cascaded
without losing any subchannel
ports. It continuously broadcasts
Receive Data, Receive Timing,
and Indicate control signals from
the data source to the eight
output terminal ports. It also has a
high Mean Time Between Failure
(MTBF) rate—over 100,000 hours.
That’s more than 11 years.
Operation is easy. Simply plug
a male DB-15 cable into the
female DB-15 input port on the
back panel, then insert up to eight
male DB-15 connectors into the 1
through 8 ports. Data, Clock, and
Indicate are received on the
master port and broadcast out
simultaneously on the 1–8 ports.
To assist operation and
diagnostics, the V.11 LS features
four green LED indicators on its
front panel. The Power indicator
lights up when the AC voltage is
applied to the box, and three
adjacent LEDs illuminate when
receiving data, clock and the
user-defined control signal. You
know the control signal is present
when the Indicate LED glows.
Housed in a sturdy aluminum
enclosure, the V.11 LS is supplied
with an internal linear power
supply. It also contains a 110/120
VAC rotary select switch at its
rear. And the device can operate
on standard power found in all
countries.
