Your software is not properly
set up for your printer.
Make sure that your printer is
properly selected in your software.
Install or re-install the printer driver
software as described in Chapter 2.
One or both ink cartridges
may be too old. They are too
old if they have been used
longer than six months or
beyond the date on their
packaging.
First try cleaning the print heads as
described in “Cleaning the Print
Heads“ on page 10-36. If print does
not appear even after several tries, you
may need to replace one or both
cartridges as described on page 10-43.
Nothing prints and the lights are on or flashing.

Several common printer
errors have occurred at once.
Use the table in “Error indicators” at
the beginning of this chapter to
determine what combination of errors
may have occurred, and apply the
recommended solutions.
The printer sounds like it is printing, but nothing prints.
Cause What to do
The print head nozzles are
clogged.
Clean the print heads as described in
“Cleaning the Print Heads” on page
10-36. If this does not work after
several trials, contact your dealer.
One or both of the ink
cartridges have been used
longer than six months or
beyond the date on the
packaging.
Try cleaning the print heads. If that
does not solve the problem, replace
ink cartridges as needed. If the or
Ink Out light is not on or flashing, see
“Ink Cartridge Problems” on page
10-43 to replace the ink cartridge.
