3. Remove the power button board and cable (2).
Reverse this procedure to install the power button board and cable.
TouchPad button board

TouchPad button board (includes cable) 646130-001
Before removing the TouchPad button board, follow these steps:
1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn
the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet
and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.
4. Remove the battery (see
Battery on page 39), and then remove the following components:
Optical drive (see
Optical drive (select models only) on page 40)
Keyboard (see
Keyboard on page 49)
Top cover (see
Top cover on page 51)
Remove the TouchPad button board and cable:
1. Turn the top cover upside down, with the top toward you.
2. Release the TouchPad board cable (1) and the TouchPad button board cable (2) from the top
cover. (The TouchPad board cable and the TouchPad button board cable are attached to the top
cover with double-sided tape.)
