A.6.4 Data Set Allocation Results
The following results were displayed once the table space was allocated. Figure
111 on page 180 shows the ISPF data set list display. From this figure we can see
that one table space partition was allocated per disk volume, ensuring an
optimum spread for performance across all the RVA’s. Figure 112 on page 181,
shows the ISMF Storage Group volume display panel.
lt can be seen that SMS has evenly distributed the data sets on each of the
available volumes assigned to the storage group. This was achieved by using
standard SMS volume selection criteria. There is no guarantee that this would
occur for every allocation, given this scenario.
