If you have subscribed to a Caller ID
service
During playback, the display shows the number
and/or name of the caller whose message is
being played.
You can call back the displayed number using
the cordless handset.
1. Press * (centre of joystick) during
playback.
2. Select “Call Back”, then press ,.
L The cordless handset stops playback and
automatically dials the telephone number.
L If you need to edit the telephone number to
return the call, select “Edit for Call” in
step 2, then press ,. Edit the number
(page 40), then press , to call back.

answering machine
To set the remote operation ID
A 3-digit remote operation ID must be entered
when operating the answering system remotely
(page 63). This ID prevents unauthorised parties
from listening to your messages remotely. After
you store your remote operation ID, remote
operation is possible.
1. Press $ (centre of joystick).
2. Select K, then press ,.
3. Select “Setting TAM”, then press ,.
4. Select “Remote Code”, then press ,.
5. To activate the remote operation feature,
enter a 3-digit remote operation ID.
L To deactivate the remote operation
feature, press {*}.
6. Press ,.
7. Press {ih}.

To change the ring setting in TAM/FAX
mode
To change the number of rings before the unit
answers a call in TAM/FAX mode. You can select
“Auto”, “2 Rings” (default), “3 Rings”, “4
Rings”, “5 Rings”, “6 Rings” or “7
Rings”. See page 51 for details.
1. Press $ (centre of joystick).
2. Select K, then press ,.
3. Select “Setting TAM”, then press ,.
4. Select “Number of Rings”, then press
,.
5. Select the desired setting, then press ,.

To change the maximum recording time for
incoming messages
“1 Minute”: Up to 1 minute.
“No Limit” (default): Unlimited within the voice
memory capacity (page 107).
“Greeting Only”: The unit plays the greeting
message but does not record caller messages.
1. Press $ (centre of joystick).
2. Select K, then press ,.
3. Select “Setting TAM”, then press ,.
4. Select “Msg Rec Time”, then press ,.
5. Select the desired setting, then press ,.
6. Press {ih}.

To set the greeting message monitor
To select whether the greeting message is heard
through the unit’s speaker when the unit answers
a call.
1. Press $ (centre of joystick).
2. Select K, then press ,.
3. Select “Setting TAM”, then press ,.
4. Select “Greet Monitor”, then press ,.
5. Select “On” or “Off”, then press ,.
6. Press {ih}.
{0} Turns auto answer setting OFF
{*}{4} Erases a specific message
(during playback)
{*}{5} Erases all messages
{*}{6} Erases greeting message
*1 If pressed within the first 5 seconds of the
beginning of the message, the previous
message will be played.
*2 The receiving mode will be set to
TAM/FAX or FAX ONLY mode, depending
on the setting of feature #77 (page 70).
