9.5.4 Tone options
Setting key tone
You can select whether or not key tones are
heard when keys are pressed. Includes
confirmation tones and error tones.
1. Press $ (centre of joystick).
2. Select t, then press ,.
3. Select “Tone Option”, then press ,.
4. Select “Key Tone”, then press ,.
5. Select “On” (default) or “Off”, then press
,.

Selecting the standby mode display
“Base Number”: The current base unit number
is displayed.
“Handset Name” (default): The name of the
cordless handset is displayed.
“Off”: Only the current date and time are
displayed.

Selecting the talk mode display
You can change what is shown on the display
when you make a call.
“Talk Time” (default): The length of the current
call will be displayed.
“Phone Number”: The telephone number you
dialled will be displayed.

Note:
L Even if you select “Phone Number”, the
length of the call will appear on your display

Changing the display language

L If you select a language you cannot read,

Changing category private colours
You can select the ringer indicator colour used
when calls are received from parties assigned to
a category in the cordless handset phonebook.
(for Caller ID service users only)
1. Press $ (centre of joystick).
2. Select t, then press ,.
3. Select “Display Option”, then press

4. Select “Private Colour”, then press
,.
5. Select a category, then press ,.
6. Select a ringer indicator colour from
“Green”(default), “Red” or “Orange”.
L The ringer indicator flashes using the
selected colour as a reference.

Changing category names
You can change the names of categories
(Family, Friends, etc.) for the cordless handset
phonebook.
1. Press $ (centre of joystick).

5. Select a category, then press ,.
6. Edit the name, up to 10 characters (see page
88 for instructions).
