5.1 Using with the ring detection
feature
This feature is only for use if you subscribe to a
Distinctive Ring pattern service from your telephone
company. For more information on the availability of
this service in your area, please contact your
telephone company before setting this feature on
your unit.
This service is called “Fax Stream Duet”.
The Distinctive Ring service gives you an additional
phone number on a single telephone line, with a different
ringing pattern.
When you wish to use the additional phone number as a
facsimile telephone number, set the ring pattern
detection feature to ON. When the unit detects a call
matching the Distinctive Ring pattern, it will receive a fax
automatically.
1 Press {MENU}.
2 Press {#}, then {3}{1}.
3 Press {A} or {B} to select “ON”.
L If this feature is not required, select “OFF”.
4 Press {SET}.
5 Press {MENU}.
