7.3 Broadcast transmission
You can send the same document to multiple parties (up
to 20). To use this feature, store the fax numbers into
broadcast memory as follows.
Broadcast: Store items using one-touch dial or
navigator directory (page 36).
Manual broadcast: Store items using one-touch dial or
navigator directory (page 36). You can also use the dial
keypad to store items manually.
Your programmed items will remain in the broadcast
memory, allowing frequent re-use.
L The broadcast function utilizes stations 1–3. The
one-touch dial function will be canceled.
L Make sure that the {Fax} light is ON.
7.3.1 Programming items into the
broadcast memory

Press {Menu} repeatedly to display “DIRECTORY
SET”.
2 Select the desired broadcast key.
For BROADCAST 1–2:
1. {Broadcast}
2. Press {V} or {^} repeatedly to select
“BROADCAST”.
For MANUAL BROADCAST:
1. {Manual broad}
2. Press {V} or {^} repeatedly to select “MANUAL
BROAD”.
3 {Set}
4 Program items.
Using stations 1–11:
Press the desired station key.
Using stations 12–22:
Press {Lower}, then press the desired station key.
Using navigator directory:
Press {V} or {^} repeatedly to display the desired
item. i {Set}
Using the dial keypad (only for manual broad):
Enter the fax number. i {Set}
L The number in brackets indicates the number of
registered items.
L To program other items, repeat this step (up to 20
items).
L If you have programmed the wrong item, press
{Stop} to erase the item.

L To program another broadcast key, repeat steps
2 to 5.

7.3.2 Adding a new item into the broadcast
memory

broadcast memory

item you want to erase.
L To cancel erasing, press {Stop}.

7.3.4 Sending the same document to pre-
programmed parties

Set the original (page 19).
2 If necessary, change to the desired resolution (page
38) and the desired contrast (page 38).
3 Press {Broadcast} (1–2) or {Manual broad}.
Note:
L To stop sending, see page 62.
L If you select “FINE”, “SUPER FINE” or “PHOTO”
resolution, the number of pages that the unit can
send will decrease.
L If the document exceeds the memory capacity,
sending will be canceled.
L If a party is busy or does not answer, it will be skipped
and redialed later 1 time.
L After transmission, the unit will automatically print a
report (broadcast sending report).
