Planet Technology PL-201-KIT Network Router User Manual

PL-201-KIT
With PLANET powerline communication products, the power outlets are
no longer to be viewed as power receptacles only but can also be the
network connection point. The PL-201 is a Powerline to Ethernet Bridge
with a RJ-45 Ethernet interface which directly connects to your computer’s
network card. Through the multiple outlets in the building, the PL-201
allows you to use the existing electrical wiring to build the network
connection in the entire household or office without the clutter of messy
wiring. It is no need of using Ethernet cable but simply pulg the PL-201
into the outlets anywhere in the house or office to share the network.
The PL-201 offers customers high speed up to 85Mbps data rate through
powerline. In addition, the PL-201 features 56-Bit DES data encryption
that improves the security and reliability and protects the data leaked by
anyone else.

PLANET provides several types of powerline products to meet
various demands. As illustrated in the topology, a notebook with
a built-in Ethernet can connect to the PL-201 freely and roam in
the house. Apply an ADSL modem or broadband router to one of
the Powerline to Ethernet bridges, and all computers can share the
Internet connection. With the PLANET Powerline products, no messy
network cables and additional switches are required at home and
users can entirely enjoy home networking from now on.
