Printronix Series 5 Printer User Manual

4–92 Configuration Menus
Alarm
You can set the printer so that an audible alarm sounds (3 beeps) when there is a
fault, such as a paper jam. Continuous Beep sounds until clear is pressed.
Power–Up State
This parameter allows you to configure the printer to power–up in the offline or
online state.
Display Language
This parameter chooses the language that will appear on the LCD – English,
Spanish, French, Italian, or German.
Cancel Key
When enabled, the CANCEL key may be used to clear all data in the print buffer
without printing any of the data.
Eject Function
This parameter enables and defines the eject function to be used. When
activated, the function is used by holding down the VIEW/EJECT key. There are
four options available: Disable, Standard, Simple Tear, and Form Saver.
Disable: Prevents the use of the eject function.
Standard: Slews the paper two 11” pages when VIEW/EJECT is
pressed more than one second. Pressing it a second time retracts two
pages.
Simple Tear: Allows demand printing for specially designed forms
which require a header of at least 2.66 inches in height. This leader
prevents the paper from falling out of the tractors when the demanded
sheet is removed. Press the VIEW/EJECT key. The printer slews the
bottom of the last printed form to the tear position. Press the
VIEW/EJECT button again. The paper reverses the exact amount of
paper it slewed, placing the print position to the next available page.
