Models with the nVIDIA video controller
To select the Multiple Monitors mode, proceed as follows:
1 Click the Start button on the Windows taskbar.
2 Click Control Panel.
3 Click Appearance and Themes.
4 Click the Display icon.
5 Select the Settings tab.
6 Click the Advanced button.
The properties dialog box appears for advanced settings.
7 Click the tab with its name beginning with GeForce.
Select nView Display Settings from the left menu.
8 Select Dualview from the nView Display Mode drop-down list.
9 Select Laptop Display from the Primary display drop-down list.
10 Click OK.

Your external display may not support the Multiple Monitors function.
On VGN-S series, you can also select the Multiple Monitors mode just by pressing one of the S buttons if you have changed the button assignment to Multiple
