Communicating with an Access Point (infrastructure)
An infrastructure network is a network that extends an existing wired local network to wireless devices by providing an Access Point,
for example the Sony Access Point. The Access Point bridges the wireless and wired LAN and acts as a central controller for the
Wireless LAN. The Access Point coordinates transmission and reception from multiple wireless devices within a specific range.
If the destination wireless LAN access point complies with the Super G technology and is configured for it, the Super G technology is automatically activated on
PCG-K series when a connection is established with the wireless LAN access point.
To communicate with an Access Point (infrastructure), proceed as follows:
1 Turn on the Wireless (VGN-A series) or Wireless LAN (PCG-K series) switch.
On VGN-A series, the Wireless Device Switch dialog box appears.
Select the Enable 2.4 GHz Wireless LAN check box and deselect the Enable Bluetooth Device check box, then click the OK
button.
2 Right-click the network icon on the taskbar displaying the Wireless Network Connection message.
3 Click View Available Wireless Networks.
The Wireless Network Connection dialog box appears.
