ideal for scientific imaging, solids modeling,
satellite imaging, and architectural rendering.
Plus delivers photographic-quality colour
comps, complete with full bleeds. Prepress
provides accurate digital proofs of DCS files.
Now print separations, complete with traps
and overprints, right on your desktop.
Independent Image Processing
The Phaser 480X includes a powerful
controller with Tektronix’ interleaved
memory and accelerated image processing.
And with 32 Mbytes of memory (expandable
to 112 Mbytes), you won’t need a dedicated
print server — the image processing takes
place in the printer.
Built for Speed
The Phaser 480X colour printer is extremely
fast. Print full-bleed, double-page spreads at
speeds up to 3.2 minutes a sheet.
Colour Calibration Made Simple
Tektronix imaging experts designed our device-
independent, TekColor
™
Dynamic Correction
colour matching software so it’s accurate and easy
to use. It’s included with every Phaser 480X. And
for the most precise prepress applications, the
PhaserMatch
™
colour calibrator allows you to
create custom colour profiles to your exact
specifications. You can adjust dot gain, density,
and the colour reproduction curve to simulate the
colour output of your target press, paper, and ink.
Crisp Type and Fine Details
For most dye sublimation printers, the
same properties that enhance smooth,
photorealistic colour transitions also tend to
soften type and hard edges. But thanks to our
exclusive TekColor Photofine
™
rendering
technology, the Phaser 480X outputs sharp text,
crisp graphics, and smooth, photographic
shading. This is dye sublimation colour
printing with no compromises.
