0 Sometimes an HDD can go bad, if this is the case you'd have to contact Acer's Technical Support dept. and have them troubleshoot the issue with you. If the laptop's out of warranty sending it in for repairs can become very expensive very quickly (usually $100USD to just look at it, and then parts and labor are charged extra). Check and make sure you are set to boot to the HDD by going into the BIOS (when the computer first turns on hit the 'Del' key several times and it should load into the BIOS, in here there should be 'Boot Priority' listed-make sure that your HDD is set to be first). If you want, you can replace the HDD yourself, or get a computer repair shop to replace it for you, however you may not be able to get the Windows to register correctly-in this case you'd either have to contact Microsoft, or Acer.
