Question About Acer Laptop 5050
need help removing dvd drive...

I need to replace bad dvd drive I took out all the screws from bottom of laptop but I am unable to finish taking the case apart

0 Most laptops have screws above the keyboard located under the plastic between the keyboard and the screen. To get to these I've always taken a flat-head screwdriver and carefully pried the edges of the plastic piece (which should go from one side of the case to the other). Attached is an image of a Toshiba laptop that has this piece removed-should be similar for your machine. (Found this image online, thanks to irisvista.com) Remember, go slowly and easy with this, there are tabs attaching the piece and these are easily broken if you put too much force on it.
