volume outside audio button is zero. How to increase the volume?...

my computer audio volume is maximum high but I cannot hear very well. So I try to increase the volume manually by pressing the audio button at the bottom of the monitor"s frame. Unfortunately the more I press the more the volume goes down to zero. Show me how to incease the volume back to normal.
