I have a design 273 model A but have no instructions. I turn off the lamp as soon as the film runs through but have found the bulb melted or misshapen twice when I try to restart. Is the fan not working properly or should I leave everything running except the lamp while changing reels? I also have a cracked lens in the removable double lens holder. I don't know if this is due to heat generated or if there is another cause.
