Desktop does not reach Borders of Monitor...

I have just purchased 2 G222HDH Monitors. I am running Windows XP and the monitors are attached to a EAH5850 Direct CU. In windows when the resolution is 1920x1080, the windows desktop does not reach the borders of the Monitor. When the resolution is 1680x1080 then the Desktop reaches the Borders of the Monitor.
