Problem Solving...

I have a Brothers Fax Machine. Model# MFC 3220C. I have notice upon sending a fax "Pls Open Cover" appears on the Display. I have attempt to send many times also checking for open covers in which their were none. Also can not receive faxs. Tell me... Are their any manufacture defects on Brothers Fax- Model# MFC3220C.
