0 To calculate Standard Deviations, Sums of Squares etc :- 1) Enter SD (Std Dev) mode by pressing [MODE] 3 2) Clear the stats memory by pressing [Alpha] [CLR] 1 = 3) Enter data with the [Data] key, for example to enter values 3,4,5,7,6, keystrokes are 3 [Data] 4 [Data] 5 [Data] 7 [Data] 6 [Data] If you have multiple values, such as 8,8,8,8, this can be entered as 8 [Shift] [;] 4 and so on. 4) To show the calculated statistics, such as sum of squares, population and sample standard deviations, and a number of other associated statistics, use the [S-SUM] and [S-VAR] keys then pick the numbered items you want from the displayed menu. If you are doing a regression analysis, where you need to work with pairs of (x,y) values, enter REG mode instead of SD mode. To do this, key [MODE] [MODE] then select 'REG' from the displayed menu, choose the type of regression in the next screen. This time, enter your (x,y) pairs using the ',' (comma) and [Data] keys, e.g. 3 , 4 [Data] etc. Once again, [Shift] [S-VAR] gives you the calculated regression statistics.
