The monitor will power up with a perfect picture for a second and then go to incredibly dark picture where nothing is visible without really squinting and looking closely. When it is powered on it acts as if its turning on fine the picture comes right up like everything is normal then everything gets incredibly dark, so dark ya'd think it was off if you didnt look close enough.
