I just purchase this gateway laptop as repackaged....

I just purchase this gateway laptop as repackaged. It looks like someone has added a password on it before retuning it. How do i go on to put my password on. I have to return it, because of this. oR RETURN IT TO FACTORY SETTINGS ?
