My new Gateway NE51006u will not power on. When I ...

My new Gateway NE51006u will not power on. When I press the power button, the power indicator light flashes five time but doesn't power on. I tried removing the battery and power cord, press and hold the power button for 20 to 60 seconds, replace the battery and power cord and still I get the five lights. Can you help with this?
