How to use the Scanner and where to put the paper to be scanned...

I have a printer bought abroad, a 2nd hand unit, the manual was lost.Its Printer/fax and copier are working except for the scanner.Everytime i use the scanner the small screen 0f the Printer will prompt that i have to install software.How come when infact my printer was already working?except the scanner.

0 Place your paper facing down what you want to scan on the top of glass which was covered by a plastic then use your software to scan hp scanner if available or press copy in the printer itself

0 First you need to make sure you have HP Image Zone. You need to open Image Zone, click "from Scanner" in the bottom left corner, then choose if its a document or picture. Then put the paper in face down like you would a fax. Once you push ok, it should start scanning. Oh also, you choose where you want the scanned file to be placed. I hope that helped.
