MY printer doesn't work. Lights flash when I press...

MY printer doesn't work. Lights flash when I press button to print. Also both little drops light up. I assumed that meant it was out of ink so I replaced both ink cartridges. . No change Have misplaced my manual so don't know what the blinking lights mean. Any ideas? Printer is HP Deskjet 1050 J410 series. HP doesn't have manual online. cjt
