The number 1 glows at the upper right of my keyboard. What turns it on and off, and what does it tell me?

5 The 1 light indicates that Num Lock is on. When on, the number pad on the right side will function as normal numbers. When you turn Num Lock off, these buttons will function like arrow keys. There should be a button that says Num Lock that will turn this on and off.
