I have a 101 shredder that when you push the switch to AUTO, it will not shut off after a while like it is suppose to. It just keeps on running. You then have to move the switch button to turn it off.... Any suggestions...

0 Many shredders have light-activated switches to turn them off. When paper is in the blades, it blocks the light and the motor runs. When the paper has passed through, it stops. So, when the receptacle is too full, it can keep running. Another possibility is that the lights can become covered with dust. Unplug it, open it up and clean out underneath the blades. See if you can find a light and a sensor, and clean them off.
