keyboard wont work. is the light suppose to be on?...

keyboard wont work. is the light suppose to be on? because it comes on for like one second and then turns off. Is there some wAY YOUR TO TURN ON THE POWER OR DOES THIS PRODUCT JUST SUCK? AND THE BATTERIES ARE NEW.
