I am having trouble getting a picture on the scree...

I am having trouble getting a picture on the screen. I have hooked up an iPad to the projector. I have the correct cables, it is plugged in, I have turned the power on. I have plugged the cord from the iPad to the projector into #1, and set the projector to computer 1.
