I have a Max 1000+ surge protector/line conditioner (installed about 17 years ago) connected to my TV. The "overvoltage" red light is on and the TV doesn't turn on. All other equipment is working, no circuits have been tripped. I suspect the surge protector may have ceased functioning and the red warning light is a sign of malfunction of the surge protector rather than a power surge. If I disconnect the surge protector, will the TV work again (assuming it hasn't been damaged)?
