I have tried to wipe a Samsung sgh-1497 tablet 2 1...

I have tried to wipe a Samsung sgh-1497 tablet 2 10.1 but there is another operating system not allowing the wipe to proceed. What do I do to wipe all operating systems and returning back to factory status. This was bought as is at a mom and pop pawnshop Alvarado TX. Real advice please. No advertising or smart ass comments please.
