The ribbon does not reverse directions when it reaches the end of the spool. When the lever is manually positioned to reverse the direction, it reverts to the original position as soon as a function key is pressed. Since the spool does not reverse direction, the tape stays at the end and print gets faint. So the tape spool must be manually rewound in order to reuse. Hope you can help! Mahalo (thank you). CK
