Operator maintenance
Cleaning outside of the scanner
Clean the scanner at least once a month.

Turn the power off.

Clean the cover with a soft cloth.

Remove dirt and dust from the radiation vent with a brush.
Cleaning inside the scanner
Clean the scanner at least once a week or every 20,000 scans, whichever comes first.
Clean the rollers and sensors
if paper jamming, marking or multiple-sheet feeding occurs frequently. See
page 36.
Clean the CIS
front and back glass and sensor rollers if vertical lines appear on the scanned images.
See page 39.
To maintain proper scanning, clean the scanner components frequently and use clean paper.
