Cannot install Windows printer driver.
Problem 1: Incorrect installer CD-ROM mounted.
Solution: Mount the installer CD-ROM provided with the printer.
Problem 2: Installer CD-ROM is damaged.
Solution: Call for service and request a new installer CD-ROM. You can also
download the driver from the Canon Home Pages
(http://www.canon.com/).
Problem 3: Windows operating system is unstable.
Solution: If Windows displays a system error message such as “General Protection
Fault” or “Illegal Operation, the computer system has become unstable.
Confirm the problem with the system and try to install again.
Problem 4: Installation does not complete successfully.
Solution: Open the Printer folder, remove the N1000/N2000 printer icon, then try

System does not recognize the printer.
Problem 1: Interface cable is disconnected.
Solution: If the printer is connected via the parallel or USB port, check the cable
connections at the printer and the computer. (ÆSetup Guide, Chapter 1, “4
Connect the Power Cord”).
Problem 2: The parallel port or USB port is not set.
Solution: If the printer is connected via the parallel or USB port, the correct port
must be selected on the printer operation panel before you can use the
printer. (ÆSetup Guide, Chapter 1, “9 Select the Interface”)
Problem 3: Network information for the printer has not be set.
Solution: If the printer is connected to a network, perform the network settings with
NetSpot or the Remote UI. (ÆNetwork Guide)
