4.4 Ribbon Feed Troubleshooting
Problem Cause and remedy
Ribbon doesn't
wind.
• Print mode is set to
direct-thermal printing.
• Wrong ribbon path.
• Ribbon wind direction is
reversed.
• Ribbon wind tension is
not correct.
→ Change to the thermal-transfer
printing.
→ Use correct path.
→ Set it properly.

Ribbon wrinkles. • Tension of ribbon holder
and ribbon winder is not
correct.
• Print density (heating
factor) is not correct.
• Angle of ribbon guide bar
is not correct.
→ Set it properly.
→ Correct the parameter of the Hnn
command with the printing
contents definition mode.
→ Contact our service personnel to
adjust the ribbon guide bar.
Note: If narrow paper is used, the ribbon may wrinkle. Decrease
the right head pressure by turning the offset adjustment screw to
prevent ribbon from wrinkling.
