Initial shipments of the Compaq Microcom 705 Corporate
Communicator will perform at up to 33.6 Kb/s, and will be
upgradable to 56Kflex via flash ROM, soon to be available for
download from the Compaq website.

The K56flex protocol is designed only to allow faster downloads
from K56flex compliant digital sources. Maximum achievable
download transmission rates may not reach 56Kb/s and will vary
with line conditions.
