fornormaloperation.Theseswitchesaresetatthefactorytotheoffpositionandrarely
needtobechanged.
Switchdefinitionsandpositionsareasfollows:
•Switches1through6–ForEnterasysNetworksuse
only.
•Switch7–ClearPersistentData.ChangingthepositionofthisswitchclearsPersistent
Dataonthenextpower‐upofthemodule.Alluser‐enteredparameters,suchastheIP
address,modulenames,etc.,areresettothefactorydefaultsettings.Oncethemodule
resets,youcan eitheruse
thefactorydefaultsettingsorreenteryourownparameters.
•Switch8–ClearAdminPassword.Changingthepositionofthisswitchclearsthe
adminpassword,andrestoresthefactorydefaultpasswordonthenextpower‐upof
themodule.Oncethemoduleresets,youcaneitherusethefactorydefaultsettings
or
reenteryourownpassword.
Caution: Read the appropriate sections to be fully aware of the consequences when
changing switch settings.
Only qualified personnel should change switch settings.
