Serial ATA Drive Guidelines and Features
Serial ATA = SATA
HP does not support the use of a PATA (IDE) hard drive / optical drive on these models of
computer.
4.1 SATA 3.0 Hard Drives
When attaching the SATA cable to the system board always connect the primary hard drive to
SATA 0.
