Removals
These
removals
are
to
be
done
by
trained
service
technicians
only.
Important:
Before
you
install
or
remove
any
option,
read
“Safety
information”
on
page
271.
These
precautions
and
guidelines
will
help
you
work
safely.
Removing
the
cover
Types
8301
and
8302
To
replace
a
microprocessor
on
any
of
the
machine
types,
do
the
following:
1.
Turn
off
the
computer
and
peripheral
devices
and
disconnect
all
external
cables
and
power
cords.
2.
Unlock
and
remove
the
Hard
Disk
Drive.
See
“Hard
disk
drive
removal”
on
page
73.
3.
Remove
the
front
bezel
by
inserting
a
finger
and
pressing
down
on
the
tab
as
shown
in
the
bubble,
detaching
from
the
right
side
and
lifting
it
off.
4.
Remove
the
2
front
and
2
back
screws
holding
the
cover
in
place.
5.
Slide
the
top
cover
toward
the
front
of
the
box
and
lift
off.
