Quick Reference Guide

2. Using the pen and the on-screen keyboard, tap in
your password.
1. When prompted, press the Windows Security
button located on the right side of your Tablet PC.
Logging on
After turning on your Tablet PC, perform the
following steps:

NOTE: For additional reference information, see the Quick
Setup included with your Tablet PC.
Pen and touch tips
You can change from right- to left-handed usage.
1. Open Motion Dashboard (see the next page).
2. On the Pen & Tablet panel, select Pen & Button Options, and then
select Tablet and Pen Settings.
3. In the Settings tab, choose left-handed.
Calibrate the digitizer for better pointer alignment.
1. Open Motion Dashboard (see the next page).
2. On the Pen & Tablet panel, select Calibrate Digitizer.
3. Tap the pen or your nger to the screen, depending
on whether you are calibrating for pen or touch.
4. Follow the instructions on the screen.

Using the pen or touch
Using the Tablet PC pen or touch is similar to using a mouse to make selections and open les. The following table explains the
similarities for using a Tablet PC pen, touch, and a mouse. (Touch is an optional feature on the Tablet PC.)

You can enable a pointer for touch. For more information, see the
Dashboard Help.
Touch also includes touch gestures and icks. For more information,
start Windows Help and search for "touch gestures" and "icks."
You can adjust the right-clicking function and enable/disable touch
and touch gestures through the Touch Settings window. For more
information, see the Dashboard Help.
Using Tablet PC Input Panel
To open Input Panel, do one of the following:
Tap at the place you want to enter text, such as a text box. Then tap
the oating Tablet PC Input Panel icon.
Tap the Input Panel tab on the left edge of the screen (default).
You can use Tablet PC Input Panel instead of a keyboard to enter text on
your tablet.
You can use the writing pad, the character pad, or the on-
screen keyboard to enter text. For more information about us-
ing the Input Panel, see the Input Panel Help.
To view the Input Panel Help, tap Tools on the Input Panel,
then Help topics.
