Installation Procedure
Adherence to these instructions will prevent
problems during initial installation of the MPC-PSF12/16.
The MPC-PSF12/16 is a versatile modular power supply that is
compatible with the MPS-12, MPC-12, and MPC-16 mini-head-
end systems. The difference between the three models is the
wiring harness used.
The hook-up configuration below illustrates the harness installa-
tion for each model for a single module.
MPS-12
1. If user prefers to retain currently installed DC power supply
harness, disconnect the 12-pin connectors (4 pcs.) and the 110
volt AC power cord from the back of the MPC-PSF12/16.
2. Remove the power supply module by sliding module out from
front of MPS-12 chassis.
3. If user prefers to install new DC power supply harness with
replacement power supply, disconnect the harness from the mini-
modules and the 110 volt AC power cord from the back of the
MPC-PSF12/16. Remove the power supply module with DC har-
nesses by sliding module out from front of MPS-12 chassis.
4. Insert the new MPC-PSF12/16 half-way into the chassis.
CAUTION: Be sure that the PCB is properly aligned into the
chassis PCB rail. Connect the green ground wire to the top of the
module with one of the cover screws.
5. Connect the appropriate harness’ 12-pin dc connector
(4 pieces) to the 12-pin jacks located on the power supply.
6. Connect the 4-pin connector to the power jack located on the
back of the modulator,
7. Connect the power cord. Verify that the power lights on the
front of the modulator are lit.
MPC-12
1. If user prefers to retain currently installed DC power supply
harness, disconnect the 12-pin connectors (4 pcs.) and the 110
volt AC power cord from the back of the MPC-PSF12/16.
2. Remove the power supply module by sliding module out from
front of MPC-12 chassis.
3. If user prefers to install new DC power supply harness with
replacement power supply, disconnect the harness from the mini-
modules and the 110 volt AC power cord from the back of the
MPC-PSF12/16.
4. Remove the power supply module with DC harnesses by slid-
ing module out from front of MPC-12 chassis.
5. Insert new MPC-PSF12/16 module with harness into chassis
slot previously occupied by removed unit. CAUTION: Be sure that
the PCB is inserted into the PCB slide guides. Connect power
cord to MPC-PSF12/16.
6. Connect the appropriate harness’ 12-pin dc connector
(4 pieces) to the 12-pin jacks located on the power supply.
7. Connect the 3-pin connector to the power jack located on the
back of the modulator,
8. Connect the power cord. Verify that the power lights on the
front of the modulator are lit.
MPC-16
1. Disconnect the 12-pin connectors (6 pcs.) and the 110 volt AC
power cord from the back of the MPC-PSF12/16.
2. Remove the power supply module by sliding module out from
back of MPC-16 chassis.
3. Insert new MPC-PSF12/16 module into chassis slot previ-
ously occupied by removed unit. CAUTION: Be sure that the PCB
is inserted into the PCB slide guides.
4. Connect the appropriate harness’ 12-pin dc connector
(4 pieces) to the 12-pin jacks located on the power supply.
5. Connect the 3-pin connector to the power jack located on the
back of the modulator,
6. Connect the power cord. Verify that the power lights on the
front of the modulator are lit.
