Setting 28: DISTINCTIVE RING
If you subscribe to a distinctive ring service from your telephone
company (Fax Duet in Australia or FaxAbility in New Zealand), press
1
to turn on the Distinctive Ring function. When your fax number is
dialled, your fax machine will signal the call with a special ringing
sound, then answer automatically and begin reception after the
number of rings set with Option Setting 2 (the factory setting is 2
rings). When your voice number is dialled, the fax machine will signal
the call with the normal ringing sound to let you know that you must
answer personally on an extension phone connected to the same line.
Note that the distinctive ring function must be used with the reception
mode set to AUTO. If you do not wish to use this function, press
2
to
turn it off.

Setting 29: VERIFICATION STAMP
Press
1
if you want the fax machine to stamp each original document
page as it is scanned. After scanning, you can check to see if all pages
have been stamped to verify that no double feeds occurred. Press
2
to
turn the function off.
Note:
To use this function, your dealer must install the Verification
Stamp option.
Initial setting: 2
Setting 30: PRINT HOLD
Press
1
if you want the fax machine to hold received documents in
memory instead of immediately printing them out (note that you must
first enter a Print Hold passcode as explained in
Print Hold
in Chapter
5). To turn off the Print Hold function, press
2
, enter the 4-digit Print
Hold passcode, and then press
START
.
