Installation
1. Connect the included power adapter to the USB hub. The power LED should light
up solid.
NOTE: Supplying external power is optional, however to ensure each USB port is
fully powered, connecting external power is recommended.
2. Connect an Ethernet cable into the RJ45 port on the USB Hub. Connect the other
end into your router, switch, or other networking device.
3. Connect the supplied USB cable from the USB hub (Micro B port) to a USB port on
the host computer system.
NOTE: If connected to a USB 2.0 host port, the hub will only operate at
USB 2.0 speeds.
4. The host computer’s operating system should detect the hub immediately and
automatically install the USB drivers.
5. Once installation is complete, USB 1.x/2.0/3.0 devices should be able to be
connected to the hub and recognized.
Driver Installation
NOTE: The drivers for the USB Hub will be automatically installed by the host
computer’s operating system. Only the driver for the Ethernet port needs to
be installed.
Windows
1. Insert the provided CD into your CD-ROM drive.
2. At the Windows desktop click Start, then Run.
3. Type D:\LAN\AX88179\Windows\AX88179_Setup.exe, then click OK. (Change D: to
match your CD-ROM drive letter)
4. Follow the instructions on screen to install the driver.
