VLYNQallowsinter-connectionofmanyVLYNQdevices.Inorderforsoftwaretocontrolthedevice
functions,theremustbeamechanismthatallowsthesoftwaretoidentifyVLYNQdevices.Eachdevice
thathasaVLYNQmoduleinithasauniquedeviceIDassociatedwithit,whichissoftwarereadableviaa
memory-mappedregisterwithintheVLYNQmodulecalledthechipversionregister(CHIPVER).Thisis
alsousefulincommunicatingwithremotedevices,asthelocalVLYNQdeviceregistermapcontainsa
copyoftheremotedevice'sregistersaswell.ThisallowsthesoftwaretodeterminetheremotechipID
and,hence,determinetheremotememory-mapwithouttryingtoaccessrandomremoteaddressestofind
