Putting Your MacBook Pro to Sleep
Ifyou’llbeawayfromyourMacBookProforonlyashorttime,putittosleep.When
thecomputerisinsleep,youcanquicklywakeitandbypassthestartupprocess.
To put your MacBook Pro to sleep, do one of the following:
m Closethedisplay.
m ChooseApple()>Sleepfromthemenubar.
m Pressthepower(®)buttonandclickSleepinthedialogthatappears.
m ChooseApple()>SystemPreferences,clickEnergySaver,andsetasleeptimer.
NOTICE: Waitafewsecondsuntilthesleepindicatorlightstartspulsing(indicating
thatthecomputerisinsleepandtheharddiskhasstoppedspinning)beforeyou
moveyourMacBookPro.Movingyourcomputerwhiletheharddiskisspinningcan
damageit,causinglossofdataortheinabilitytostartupfromtheharddisk.
